Position Type: School Service Staff/Bookkeeper Date Posted: 1/20/2026 Location: Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus Catholic School Diocese of Joliet Catholic Schools 2025-2026 Administrative Assistant/Accounting Clerk Part-time: Benefit Ineligible Cathedral of St. Raymond, Joliet, IL Position available: February 2026Administrative Assistant/Accounting Clerk St. Raymond School in Joliet, IL is seeking a part-time accounting clerk to begin February of 2026. Ideal candidates should have joyful, positive presence, great customer service and strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Position Purpose The accounting clerk is responsible for assisting in the management of the school's financial records with accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality. This part-time position supports the mission of the school by ensuring sound financial practices while upholding the values and teachings of the Catholic Church. Major Responsibilities and Duties: Tuition and Billing Manage FACTS Financial Invoice families Track payments Post financial assistance to families' FACTS Manage Tuition Express for Extended Day billing Payroll & HR Oversee collecting timecards Assist with benefits enrollment Financial Management Handle petty cash Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and ensure timely bill payments and invoicing Track donations Administrative Support Support the principal and office Attend major fundraising events to help with internal bank Communicate with vendors At times, cover the front desk Other Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters Ability to adapt to changing work priorities Ability to meet deadlines and schedules and independently set priorities Ability to work as a team member with colleagues Other duties as assigned. Qualification Profile Any combination of education and experience providing the required skills and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Associate's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience) Prior bookkeeping or accounting experience required; school or nonprofit experience preferred Strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism Strong communication and interpersonal skills The candidate must exhibit a commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education Excellent communication skills, verbal and written Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards Works in standard office and school building environments. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods of time. Physically able to perform the duties as assigned including the ability to lift up to 20-30 pounds if needed. Hourly Range Hourly rate based on experience, $18-$20 per hour Final hourly rate will be determined by relevant years of experience in a similar job combined with education and professional licensure.
