Requisition ID: 43450BR Business Unit: TSU Job Description: Join our dynamic Transportation Construction, Engineering and Inspection group, where we are dedicated to enhancing transportation systems that align with community needs. We are seeking a Senior Roadway and Bridge Transportation Engineer who will: Lead and oversee construction inspection activities for diverse transportation infrastructure projects, including roadways, bridges, drainage systems, erosion control, and traffic maintenance. Build strong relationships with clients and contractors to ensure timely and compliant construction progress. Estimate workforce requirements, plan schedules, and effectively delegate tasks to meet client deadlines. Supervise field inspection staff to maintain high-quality standards. Manage, coordinate, and direct significant construction projects with a focus on complexity and importance. Engage in business development and nurture existing client relationships to enhance our portfolio. Mentor junior staff, fostering their growth and professional development. Contribute to the establishment and execution of innovative strategies to enhance our CEI capabilities. Stay informed about emerging methods and industry developments, recommending enhancements to our existing programs. Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in Civil, Transportation, or Structural Engineering, or a related field is required. A Professional Engineering (PE) license is mandatory, along with 15 years of relevant experience. Some travel may be necessary based on project needs. Equivalent experience may substitute for academic qualifications. Preferred Qualifications: 20 years of experience in transportation construction is preferred. Familiarity with TxDOT Site Manager and precertification requirements (Roadway and Bridge Construction Management) is desirable. Candidates with previous roles such as TxDOT Area Engineer, Assistant AE, or similar are encouraged to apply. A Texas PE license is mandatory.
