We are excited to offer a fulfilling position as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) within our Community Living Department. This department is committed to fostering inclusive and supportive residential environments, allowing individuals to thrive and reach their fullest potential. DSP COMPENSATION: $19.68/hour with an additional $2.00 differential for weekend shifts. What will you do as a DSP in Community Living? In this role, you will work as part of a team in a small residential home setting, supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in achieving a meaningful life. Your responsibilities will include assisting residents with life skills and household tasks, such as meal planning and preparation, laundry, and light housework; helping with personal care; administering medications; and providing transportation as needed. Work Environment: You will be based in a beautiful residential home in Westminster, MD. Participation in the Direct Support Professional (DSP) Certification Program, which provides annual cash bonuses. Requirements: High school diploma or GED is required. A valid driver's license with no more than 2 current points on record. Intermediate computer and keyboarding skills; quick adaptability to new systems. Successful completion of a clean drug screen and background check (as we serve vulnerable adults). Completion of CPR, First Aid, Certified Medication Technician, and other trainings mandated by the Developmental Disabilities Administration and The Arc. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONALS (DSPs): Must be able to lift and manipulate at least 50 pounds frequently and occasionally exert force in excess of 100 pounds. Ability to withstand prolonged periods of standing, along with frequent bending, stooping, reaching, pulling, and pushing, which may include lifting a wheelchair and repositioning individuals. Capability to transfer individuals from chairs to vehicles and vice versa, as well as positioning individuals using lifts and securing them in wheelchairs during transport.
