Job Description: Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Tech is responsible for a variety of tasks related to the repair, preventative maintenance, and improved performance of Distribution Center and office area equipment and hardware, which may include conveyor systems, power equipment such as forklifts and pickers, rack installations, telephonic network/hardware, and dock doors. Responsibilities Operate, test, repair, analyze, and maintain the performance of all distribution center equipment, including visual and auditory inspections Observe and test adjustments, repairs or modifications to ensure safe operation of equipment Collaborate and discuss machine operation variations with supervisor or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine Dismantle defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts and/or new equipment Perform preventive maintenance on all equipment Ensure the maintenance shop and work area is clean, safe and organized Communicate with Managers/Supervisors and associates concerning work to be performed, status of equipment and completion of work Monitor tasks and workflow to ensure that department priorities and goals are met Keep Manager/Supervisor informed of operational issues and/or problems Understand and demonstrate AWBC's Core Values Performs other duties as assigned Specific maintenance duties include but are not limited to: Conveyer Lines: troubleshoot, repair and perform routine maintenance, including PLC Electrical: Work from schematics to troubleshoot proximity sensors, pressure transducers, motors, motor starter/overloads, solenoid valves, etc. Mechanical: Troubleshoot components such as gearboxes, chain drives, bearings, etc. and repair as necessary. Hydraulics/Pneumatics: Work from schematics to troubleshoot solenoid valves, check valves, high/low pressure systems, replace/rebuild cylinders, etc. Troubleshoot, repair and perform preventive maintenance on electric forklift and electric pallet jacks, dock doors and dock levelers, HVAC and plumbing systems Requirements Experience Five (5) years of general maintenance experience Warehouse/distribution center maintenance experience preferred, including mechanical and electrical experience on production and facility equipment, specifically PLC Network equipment and architecture experience strongly preferred, including maintenance, installation and support of network cabling, hardware and other related systems Education High School diploma or equivalent Skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proficient math and analytical/problem solving skills Organizational prioritization skills Ability to apply specialized skill training to make decisions and recommendations Experience with Microsoft Office Physical and Environmental Requirements Must be able to sit at a computer or desk for extended periods of time. Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time. Must be able to use hands/arms for repetitive motion activities. Must be able to lift objects up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance. Must be able to communicate using speech, sight, and sound with or without assistive device. Must be able to stand, walk, stoop or crouch while performing daily activities of the job.
