Join Grant Thornton as an HRIS Manager specializing in Oracle HCM Absence Management. We are looking for a strategic-minded individual with extensive expertise in leave management to lead our organization’s leave technology strategy. In this role, you will manage end-to-end leave processes across various jurisdictions, ensuring compliance, optimizing workflows, and shaping the future of our absence management systems. As a part of our People & Community team, you will work closely with People Operations/Leaves, Payroll, Benefits, HR Business Partners, and global HR teams. Collaboration with IT and cross-functional partners will be essential to maintain effective leave systems and ensure alignment with organizational goals. This is a hands-on leadership role that significantly impacts employee experience and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Strategy Act as the firm’s subject-matter expert for all leave processes, policies, and Oracle HCM Absence Management functionalities. Oversee the leave operations lifecycle, ensuring accuracy and compliance across jurisdictions. Evaluate and implement process enhancements and automation opportunities for improved employee experience. Oracle HCM Absence Management Oversight Directly manage the configuration and optimization of the Oracle Absence Management module including various leave programs. Ensure configurations meet current legal requirements and workflows across countries. Lead user acceptance testing, regression testing, and production validation for system updates. Maintain comprehensive documentation of configurations, processes, and dependencies. Data Quality, Integrations & Issue Resolution Ensure accuracy of absence data flowing to integrated systems and reporting platforms. Monitor system performance and resolve complex absence transaction issues. Collaborate with IT to maintain efficient system connectivity and data governance. Operational Excellence & Support Manage Tier 1 support for absence-related inquiries and issues. Work with Benefits and Payroll teams to guarantee accurate pay outcomes in line with leave policies. Global Projects & Change Management Lead absence-related initiatives within HRIS strategic programs such as M&A onboarding and policy alignment. Facilitate documentation, communication, and training for stakeholders to aid change adoption. Qualifications: Required: 5 or more years of HRIS or LOA experience, including 3 or more years managing Oracle HCM Absence Management. Experience administering leave programs across varying compliance requirements. Strong understanding of Oracle HCM data structures and testing cycles. Proven experience in leadership, whether formal or informal, with a focus on processes or projects. Excellent problem-solving skills for diagnosing issues and implementing effective solutions. Able to excel in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities. High proficiency in Microsoft Office and a strong ability to learn new technologies. Preferred: Experience with Snowflake, Dayshape, OTBI reporting, or PowerPlatform integrations. Knowledge of HR Helpdesk workflows. Experience in M&A transactions or global HRIS projects. Bachelor’s degree in HR, Information Systems, or a related field. The base salary for this position in Chicago, IL; Downers Grove, IL; Denver, CO; and Baltimore, MD is between $120,000 and $180,000 per year.
