Job Title: Senior Roadway and Pavement Inspector Work Location: Anchorage, AK Salary: Competitive salary based on experience, discussed during the interview. Requirements: Must be a US Citizen and pass a federal background review and drug screening. Responsibilities: Conduct detailed inspections of airfield runway construction and pavement resurfacing to ensure compliance with contract documents, project plans, and specifications. Implement and support a three-phase inspection system. Prepare and submit daily Quality Assurance (QA) reports detailing on-site activities. Analyze and review contractor progress on projects. Ensure adherence to safety regulations including EM 385-1-1 and OSHA standards. Track submittals utilizing a submittal status log. Evaluate design changes and verify accurate as-built drawings. Review and validate contractor payment requests for accuracy. Confirm daily reports for project scheduling and activity tracking. Maintain comprehensive Inspection Site Reports. Assist in addressing Requests for Information (RFI), modifications, and change orders. Participate in pre-final and final inspections and help prepare detailed punch-lists, ensuring all items are resolved prior to final payment. Experience and Education: High School diploma or GED required with a minimum of 7 years of relevant construction inspection experience, especially in airfield runway improvements or roadway and pavement resurfacing. OR an Associate Degree or Technical Training Degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience. OR a Bachelor of Science Degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. Must obtain Paving Inspector Certification from the Asphalt Institute within 30 days of employment. Familiarity with Resident Management System (RMS 3.0) is preferred. Experience enforcing EM 385-1-1, OSHA regulations, and related safety requirements is essential. Proven skills in quality assurance inspections, submittal reviews, contractor payment validation, and daily reporting. Prior experience with Federal construction projects, particularly with the US Army Corps of Engineers, is highly desired. Effective communication skills and a professional demeanor are essential for client and contractor interactions.
