Essential Job Functions: Act as the main contact for all issues related to freight damage, loss, and shortage claims, guiding them from the initial report to final resolution. Initiate, monitor, and resolve claims with carriers to ensure results are timely and favorable. Collect and organize essential documentation such as bills of lading, proof of delivery, photographs, inspection reports, and sales orders with great attention to detail. Maintain regular and effective communication with clients to update them on claim status, requirements, and resolutions. Work closely with internal teams in operations, warehousing, and transportation to investigate incidents, identify root causes, and implement preventive measures. Accurately process claim payments and credits while adhering to accounting procedures. Keep detailed and up-to-date records of claims in the company’s system. Analyze claims data to identify trends and report findings to management for initiatives aimed at continuous improvement. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Logistics is preferred. 1-3 years of experience in claims management, logistics, transportation, or a related administrative role, ideally within a 3PL environment. Solid understanding of freight claims processes, regulations, and best practices in the industry. Outstanding organizational skills and keen attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of clearly articulating complex information. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); familiarity with logistics software (TMS, WMS) is a plus. Able to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment. Strong problem-solving skills with a customer-focused mindset.
