We are looking for a Director of Model Validation to lead and execute model validation testing processes that support Financial Crime programs, focusing on areas like transaction monitoring, customer risk assessment, fraud detection, and watchlist screening. Responsibilities: Design and update testing strategies for independent validation of financial crime detection and sanctions screening models, including data quality testing and statistical analysis. Execute analytical projects in collaboration with senior stakeholders and clients to deliver value to financial institution clients. Conduct model validation, implementation, tuning, and optimization of AML and Sanctions models, producing reports and communication for customers. Perform data validation exercises such as data quality testing and reconciliation, as well as statistical analysis on financial transaction and alert data. Track and validate the implementation of remedial actions to verify issues are resolved; providing follow-up as necessary. Monitor regulatory activities and identify trends that may impact clients, requiring adjustments to the compliance testing program. Develop model risk management programs, covering assessments, change management, and internal controls. Assist clients with day-to-day compliance requirements and serve as a subject matter expert. Engage in business development with existing and new clients, participating in proposal development and networking. Requirements: Bachelor's and/or advanced degree in Data Management, Analytics, Finance, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or Statistics/Mathematics. Experience with data extraction and analysis tools like SQL/Python. 5+ years in the Financial Crime industry, including experience in model validation and quality testing. Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle and experience with data analysis in financial services. Familiarity with model validation of financial crime systems such as Verafin, Actimize, and others. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to present findings effectively to all levels of management. Preferred: Prior experience in professional services or consulting. Skills in visualizing analytical results using tools like Tableau, Power BI, and similar technologies.
