Job #: 108009 Title: Parts Cleaner/ Grinder - 2nd shift Location: Rockford, IL Salary Range: $19.00 Position: GENERAL LABOR Description: Location: Rockford, IL Shift: 2nd Shift, Monday-Friday, 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM Pay: $19.00/hr Job Description We are seeking a reliable Parts Cleaner/Grinder to join our team on 2nd shift in Rockford, IL. This role is responsible for cleaning and finishing steel parts using electric hand grinders, removing flame-cut slag, and performing weld repairs as needed. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a manufacturing environment and be comfortable using hand tools, measuring equipment, and material handling equipment. This position requires attention to detail, safe equipment operation, and the ability to handle physical job demands in a fast-paced shop setting. Responsibilities : Use electric-powered hand grinders to remove slag from flame-cut steel parts Perform weld repairs as required Utilize tape measures and micrometers to verify dimensions Operate overhead cranes to move materials safely Operate forklifts to transport parts and materials Inspect finished parts for quality and accuracy Maintain a clean and organized work area Follow all safety procedures and shop guidelines Requirements: Experience using electric hand grinding tools Ability to read and use tape measures and micrometers Welding experience preferred Forklift operation experience required Overhead crane experience required Ability to lift parts weighing up to 50 lbs Strong attention to detail and quality Ability to work independently on 2nd shift Reliable attendance and good work ethic Benefits: Many of our positions at Dickey Staffing are temp-to-hire.
