This pivotal role encompasses managing all aspects of claims handling for both internal and third-party administered claims under the Public Entity line of business. You will be responsible for: Conducting thorough investigations into claims, assessing coverage, liability, and potential damages. Utilizing your expertise in policy forms, reinsurance contracts, and regulatory requirements to navigate complex casualty claims. Proactively managing claims with a strategic focus to ensure optimal outcomes. Setting appropriate reserves throughout the claim lifecycle, adapting to changing exposures. Implementing best practices consistently to enhance technical claims proficiency. Coordinating with outside counsel and vendors strategically to achieve favorable claim results. Presenting high-exposure claims to Claims Leadership and key stakeholders. Collaborating with internal and external partners for client meetings, product improvements, and audits. Embracing an innovative mindset to improve efficiency and effectiveness in claims management. Maintaining a strategic perspective on total claim costs, with an emphasis on analytics and critical thinking. Qualifications The ideal candidate will have: 8+ years of experience in claims handling. Expertise in Public Entity or related fields. A deep understanding of coverage issues and regulatory landscapes affecting casualty claims. Strong collaborative skills and a proactive approach with excellent interpersonal abilities. A keen analytical mind with superior negotiation skills. Exceptional communication skills for effective internal and external discussions. The ability to travel up to 25% for mediations, settlement conferences, and client meetings. We are considering applicants from various locations, including Philadelphia, Princeton, Chicago, Atlanta, and Hartford. The salary range for this position is $99,700-$152,800, with potential for a company bonus and a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, 401k matching, and paid time off starting at 24 days annually.
