Posting Details Posting Information Posting Number FAE1981 Advertised Title Assistant Professor of Educational Psychology Campus Location Main Campus (Memphis, TN) Position Number 001679 Category Full-Time Faculty Department Counsel Education Psych Research Position Summary The College of Education and the Department of Counseling, Educational Psychology, and Research seeks a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor faculty member for the Educational Psychology and Research (EDPR) program, with an emphasis on Adolescent Development, beginning August 17, 2026 (Position 001679). The EDPR program is predominantly a graduate education program using a research apprenticeship model and emphasizing scholarly productivity. The EDPR program also offers an undergraduate minor. The EDPR program also provides a wide range of service courses and academic support for graduate degree programs inside the College of Education, as well as across the wider University of Memphis campus. The position requires teaching of graduate courses (both online and face-to-face), a significant program of scholarly research, research publications, the pursuit of external funding for research, mentoring and supervising research of graduate students, chairing and serving on master's and doctoral committees, and participating in national professional organizations and university and college committees. The successful candidate will teach courses primarily on adolescent development and related developmental courses. The Department of Counseling, Educational Psychology, and Research and the College of Education are not currently offering any sponsorships for this position Minimum Position QualificationsQUALIFICATIONSRequired • An earned doctorate in Educational Psychology, Human Development, or a closely related field. • Expertise in adolescent development, especially in educational contexts. • Evidence of research potential and publication record. Desired • Demonstrated evidence of excellence in teaching, research, and/or graduate student mentorship. • Evidence of securing or participating in funded grants or projects. • Demonstrated leadership in graduate teaching, research, and/or student mentorship. • Interdisciplinary experience conducting collaborative research.
