Purchasing assistant

A client of ours located in Louisville, KY is seeking a Purchasing Assistant to join their team. The primary responsibilities of this position will be to process purchase orders, confirming availability with suppliers, scheduling carriers, requesting shipping and quality documents as needed, and supporting other purchasing positions with order placement and tracking. This is a full-time permanent opportunity offering a competitve salary and benefits package. salary: $55,000 - $63,000 per year shift: First work hours: 8 AM - 5 PM education: High School Responsibilities Order Management: Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of 3rd-party orders daily, ensuring seamless coordination between suppliers, carriers, and customers. Quality Control: Meticulously review all orders for accuracy and technical specifications prior to final submission to suppliers. Logistics Oversight: Monitor shipments to ensure they are picked up and delivered on schedule; proactively communicate any potential delays or logistical changes to stakeholders. Documentation: Retrieve and organize essential shipping and quality-control documents from carriers and suppliers to maintain compliance and records. Internal Collaboration: Partner closely with Customer Service, Sales, and Operations teams to provide real-time updates on supply chain fluctuations, pricing shifts, or product availability. Strategic Support: Act as a key contributor to the broader purchasing team by identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities for procurement processes. Client Support: Furnish necessary documentation to internal teams to satisfy specific customer requirements and audits.
