Reporting to the Director of Software Engineering, you'll lead technical development efforts for existing and next-generation software solutions. This role is perfect for an experienced engineer who is proficient in Java and the J2EE stack, experienced with AWS cloud services, and skilled in CI/CD pipelines and software design patterns. You'll be a technical leader who mentors others while driving innovation and excellence. What You'll Do Technical Leadership & Architecture Design and implement scalable, secure, and maintainable software systems that align with business needs Lead technical design for complex stories, features, and epics Author technical documentation and ensure adherence to IT control policies Maintain deep understanding of software subsystems, components, interfaces, and data integrations Collaboration & Innovation Collaborate proactively with cross-functional teams to address technical dependencies and deliver high-quality products Work with senior partners to ensure consistent design and coding standards across all development teams Build and maintain strong business relationships to influence decision-making Review ideas and concerns, driving innovative solutions across teams Problem Solving & Mentorship Identify root causes of challenges and analyze upstream and downstream impacts Recommend impactful, broad-reaching solutions while considering corporate strategy and trade-offs Establish and guide best practices for design, development, testing, and Agile workflows Mentor team members and foster a collaborative environment Required Qualifications Experience Minimum 7 years of software development experience 10+ years designing and implementing solutions using Java and J2EE technologies Proven track record of successfully delivering large, complex, cross-functional projects Prior experience working in an Agile/SCRUM environment Education BS Degree in Computer Science Technical Expertise Proficiency in AWS technologies including EC2, SNS, SQS, S3, SES, ESS, Lambda Expert in databases such as MongoDB, ElasticSearch, and MySQL Experience with Rules Engine and/or Event-driven architecture Exposure to design best practices, including performance, scalability, robustness, and resiliency Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and software design patterns Core Competencies Strong problem-solving and communication skills Able to work independently and as part of a team on multiple overlapping projects Experience managing multiple projects and delivering high-quality results with innovation and creativity Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Technical Communication Communicates complex technical concepts effectively to diverse audiences Collaborates seamlessly across departments with varying levels of technical expertise Addresses internal and external customer needs effectively, with the ability to interact directly with customers Strategic Thinking Demonstrates strong understanding of system-wide impacts and interdependencies Develops and implements innovative solutions that challenge the status quo Applies Agile/LEAN principles and methodologies to improve efficiency and deliver value Leadership Leads by example, fostering teamwork, trust, and a shared purpose Adapts to changing conditions with flexibility and leads others through transitions Promotes success and strategic thinking across the organization Why Join Us?
