CONTROLLERPosition Summary We're looking for a skilled and motivated accounting leader to oversee our corporate accounting operations. In this role, you'll manage key functions including financial reporting, payroll, tax compliance, and risk management. You'll ensure accuracy, maintain regulatory compliance, and deliver reliable financial insights that support strategic decision-making. What You'll DoCore Responsibilities Oversee all accounting operations and ensure a strong control environment over accounting transactions and reporting. Oversees monthly financial close process and reporting requirements. Direct the preparation of internal and external financial reporting and analyzing variances in accordance with GAAP and bank covenant. Provide overall tax management, including compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings. Oversee the cash flow analysis, reconciliation and management, including creation and analysis of reliable cash flow projection processes. Research relevant technical accounting issues for GAAP compliance and suitability for the organization. Oversee the documentation of processes and policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls. Oversee annual audit, review processes, and meet the standards and requirements of the audit, while ensuring legal and regulatory compliance. Collaborate with other business leaders to provide ongoing analysis of business operations and systems. Lead efforts for system implementations, data integrations and ongoing maintenance of finance, accounting and payroll systems. Assist VP/CFO with corporate investments, and general treasury duties. Supervisory Responsibilities SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides direct supervision to the general accounting, treasury and investment, purchasing and payroll managers and indirect supervision to the teams. Responsible for developing people, improving processes, reducing costs, monitoring quality, delivering results against established objectives, and ensuring a high level of service to internal and external customers. Manages assigned employees by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, coaching, developing, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning monitoring, appraising, and reviewing employee job contributions; maintaining compensation, resolving problems and implementing business and system changes. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree (BA) in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience 6+ years' experience in general accounting or finance 5+ years' experience in leadership or management role Preferred Qualifications Master's Degree in Business (MBA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) 1+ years' experience in travel or insurance industry Certificates, License, Registrations (Required) Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures Ability to guide, influence, and motivate others across the organization and externally Ability to effectively delegate and lead by personal example Skilled in issuing financial statements and providing effective financial reports Skilled in general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process Advanced knowledge in accounting software administration Capable of mentoring, motivating and guiding others toward both individual and organization goals Ability to communicate clearly and professionally both verbally and in writing, including effective use of listening skills. Able to make timely and sound decisions, understanding the impact and implications and providing feedback on outcomes. It requires the employee to work inside for the duration of work. Must be able to remain in a stationary position, sitting for more than 50% of the time. This position will require occasionally moving about inside the office to access equipment, cabinets, etc. May work around office equipment which could be noisy, such as copiers and fax machines.
