Electrical Engineer (Full-time)Bloomington, MNDuties: Performing technical analyses relating to wind, solar and other project development. Capable of clearly explaining the analysis methodology and justification for utilizing it. Completing analytical and administrative tasks relating to electrical interconnection and development of wind, solar, or other energy projects. Completing analytic and administrative tasks relating to Project Scoping, Screening Analyses, Generator Interconnection, Facilities Studies, IA negotiation and Strategic Initiatives. Work is reviewed (by supervisor) for application of professional judgment. Assisting and representing National Grid Renewables and/or renewable energy at appropriate industry conferences and different stakeholder meetings. Interface with Stakeholders to achieve successful project creation and implementation. Ability to summarize projects' results, risks and discuss if needed with accuracy and clarity. Provide drafts of different reports and presentations as required from the Transmission Department. Requirements: Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related engineering field (or foreign degree equivalent) and 1 year of experience with electrical engineering and transmission planning or ISO Generation Interconnection Process; at least 1 year of experience with RTO (ERCOT, MISO, PJM or SPP), and communicating clearly with different RTOs to gather information regarding GI applications, processes and cost allocation; at least 1 year of experience reviewing and critiquing TO/RTO work/results and validating for accuracy; at least 1 year of experience with PSS/E; at least 1 year of experience with TARA analysis software to navigate smoothly through software and complete non-complicated troubleshooting; at least 1 year of experience with North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) regional processes and the various NERC TPL standards. Telecommuting permissible from home office located anywhere in the U.S. Salary: $97,000/year - $145,000/year Benefits: Health, Dental and Vision Insurance, Paid Parental Leave and Holidays, Short-and Long-term Disability coverage.
