Performs invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures for Intensive Care and General Practice Unit patients. Maintains clinical expertise for departmental assignments throughout various business units, as assigned. Communicates effectively with patients, co-workers, physicians, and other system employees as needed regarding patient care needs. Adequately documents all aspects of patient care. Supervises, directs, and delegates to Respiratory Therapists, Respiratory orients, externs, and students, as assigned. Completes necessary and accurate patient billing information. Schedule is every other weekend and holiday. Required education includes an Associate of Science Degree from an accredited Respiratory Therapist program. Preferred education includes a Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy. Preferred skills and experience are not applicable. Good communication and organization skills are essential. ICU workers with only long-term care facility experience are not suitable for this position. CRT candidates will not be considered.
