The Quality Manager is responsible for leading enterprise-wide continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring the effectiveness of the Quality Management System (QMS). This role serves as a subject matter expert in Lean Six Sigma methodologies and drives measurable improvements in safety, quality, cost, delivery, and productivity across manufacturing operations. This position leads the Quality Control (QC) and Quality Lab teams, champions data-driven problem solving, and partners closely with Production, Engineering, and Supply Chain to optimize processes and eliminate waste. The Continuous Improvement & Quality Manager reports directly to the President and plays a critical role in building a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence. Duties & Responsibilities:Continuous Improvement Leadership Serve as the site leader and subject matter expert for Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement methodologies. Lead and mentor Green Belt-level projects and support Black Belt-level initiatives focused on process optimization and waste reduction. Identify, prioritize, and execute continuous improvement projects that deliver measurable business results. Facilitate Kaizen events, value stream mapping, root cause analyses, and problem-solving workshops. Track, report, and sustain CI project results using KPIs and performance dashboards. Quality Management & Governance Own and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure product consistency, compliance, and performance. Lead the QC Inspector team to ensure adherence to specifications and quality standards. Oversee the Quality Lab through the Lab Supervisor; support product qualifications, testing protocols, and trial validations. Investigate customer complaints and internal nonconformances using structured root cause methodologies (e.g., DMAIC, A3). Implement and verify corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Production, Engineering, and Supply Chain to improve process capability, reduce variability, and enhance throughput. Support new product trials, process changes, and continuous improvement initiatives tied to strategic objectives. Participate in customer visits, audits, and technical quality reviews. Evaluate supplier performance and provide input on material quality and process improvement opportunities. Culture & Capability Building Train and coach team members in Lean, Six Sigma, and problem-solving tools. Promote a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and data-driven decision-making. Develop standard work, control plans, and visual management systems to sustain gains. Perform other duties as assigned to support operational excellence and quality initiatives. Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, Quality, or a related technical field required. Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification required (Black Belt strongly preferred). Minimum of 7+ years of experience in manufacturing, quality, and/or continuous improvement leadership roles. Experience in food packaging or regulated manufacturing environments preferred. Required Skills & Abilities Proven expertise in Lean Six Sigma, DMAIC, Kaizen, and root cause analysis. Strong ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority. Demonstrated success driving measurable operational improvements. Advanced problem-solving, analytical, and data interpretation skills. Effective project management and organizational skills. Strong communication skills at all organizational levels. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and quality/CI tools (SPC, dashboards, documentation systems).
