Big Data Architect Contractor

CSI Companies is seeking an experienced Big Data Architect with hands-on AI modeling experience to support an internal enterprise data initiative. This role focuses on designing and implementing large-scale, cloud-based data and AI solutions in a modern AWS environment. This is a hands-on, senior-level architecture role supporting internal, non client-facing initiatives. This opportunity is ideal for a seasoned data architect who has led enterprise-scale big data platforms, brings strong AWS expertise, and has practical experience building and deploying AI/ML models alongside data engineering solutions. You will lead architectural decisions, design scalable data ecosystems, and partner with internal stakeholders to deliver secure, high-performance, and cost-efficient data and AI platforms. Hours: 40 hours/week - Monday to Friday, standard business hours Location: Remote (EST) Pay: $75-85/hour based on relevant experience, education, and credentials Position Type: Consultant - No C2C Work Authorization: Visas are acceptable (any EAD). Candidates must be eligible to work on W2 and must not require sponsorship for at least 6-12 months. What you'll do: • Design and implement enterprise-scale big data architectures on AWS • Architect and build scalable data pipelines for batch and streaming data processing • Develop and deploy AI/ML models integrated into big data platforms • Translate business and data requirements into robust technical architectures • Implement data ingestion, integration, storage, and processing solutions • Optimize data platforms for performance, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency • Ensure data security, governance, and data quality standards are met • Provide architectural guidance and technical leadership to internal engineering teams • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to support internal data initiatives What we're looking for: • 10+ years of experience as a Big Data Architect, Data Architect, or similar role • Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and big data technologies • Proven hands-on experience with AI/ML modeling and implementation • Experience designing large-scale, distributed data systems • Strong understanding of data integration, processing, and storage patterns • Ability to work independently in a remote, internal-facing role Nice to have: • Experience with Python, Spark, or PySpark • Familiarity with modern data lakes, data warehouses, and lakehouse architectures • Experience supporting internal enterprise platforms rather than client-facing systems Who Should Apply?
