Cardiovascular Intensive Care RN | Fairborn, Ohio

A specialized nursing opportunity is available for an experienced RN with a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) background. This role focuses on delivering critical post-operative care for cardiothoracic surgical patients, primarily following procedures such as CABG and TAVR. Candidates must demonstrate current expertise in hemodynamic monitoring and managing advanced devices like Swan-Ganz catheters, and familiarity with EPIC electronic medical records. Location: Positioned in Fairborn, Ohio, this assignment offers exposure to a dynamic cardiothoracic ICU environment within an 8-bed unit embedded in a larger 30-bed intensive care setting. Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and initiate appropriate care plans. Provide vigilant management of post-operative cardiothoracic patients, including those with complex devices such as Impella, VAD, IABP, and CRRT. Administer and titrate critical drips, manage ventilators, and deliver life-supporting modalities. Facilitate coordinated multidisciplinary care, ensuring patient safety and advocacy throughout hospitalization. Serve as a resource and liaison for families, patient care coordination, and patient education. Qualifications / Desired Experience: Current RN licensure eligible under compact states. Minimum 2 years of current CVICU experience, including post-op CABG and TAVR care. Proficiency with Swan catheter management mandatory; Impella, VAD, IABP, and CRRT experience preferred. Current EKG competency; EPIC charting experience required. ACLS certification within six months of hire; BLS preferred at hire. Critical care certifications such as CCRN or PCCN are advantageous. Job Type: Contract position with 12-hour night shifts, working every other weekend and every other holiday.
