Paint Shop Operator

Title : Paint shop operator Location - Austin, TX Shift : 4/10 - 1st (Mon-Thu), typically 5:30A-4P) Pay Rate: $18.00/hr on W2 US Citizenship is required 12 months contract contract to hire Job description: The Client is seeking candidates with assembly experience with a focus on paint application and touch up. Candidates will apply chemical coatings to assemblies in a fast-paced, quality-focused environment with minimal supervision. Must have a working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of products and be able to use a computer to communicate with team. The ideal candidate should have experience with precision application of coatings or paint, ability to precisely mask "keep-out" zones on small assemblies, follow written instructions, interpret assembly drawings, and work independently. Must be able to use clear written and oral communication to share information with team members. Will be expected to meet factory targets associated with Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost. Use of hand and/or power tools, jigs, masking aids, media blaster, and saws will be required. Prepare the surface of machined and sheet metal parts for painting by cleaning, stripping, abrading, sanding, masking and stenciling. Unmask and touch up product with paint or enamel as required. Must be able to read and understand blueprints and process sheets to finish products where thickness and dimension tolerances are critical. Able to use measurement tools such as scales, micrometers and calipers. Use of PPE (safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection) will be required. Task requires an ability to sit comfortably for long periods of time doing masking and touch-up while meeting quality and rate goals.
