The Los Angeles County Office of Education is seeking an experienced strategic fiscal leader to serve as the Director, Accounting & Budget Development. LACOE is the largest regional educational agency in the nation, serving 80 school districts and over 1.3 million students across a diverse and dynamic region. The Director, Accounting and Budget Development plans, organizes, directs, and evaluates the personnel and activities of the Accounting and Budget Development Division; oversees the accounting operations of the organization, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulations; ensures that budget processes reflect prevailing best practices and are utilized as a strategic tool to drive organizational performance. Foreign degrees and credit units require translation and equivalency established by an agency recognized by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing. Experience: Six years of management experience in governmental accounting, budget, and/or finance, including three years in a supervisory capacity. Additional Requirements: A valid CPA license and relevant experience related to the experience requirements within a school district or county office of education is preferred. A valid driver's license and the availability of private transportation or the ability to obtain transportation between job sites is required. Hybrid remote schedules may be available.
