Position Summary: The Part-Time CDL Bus Driver safely transports students, faculty, and staff to and from athletic events, field trips, and other school-sponsored activities. This role supports the school’s mission by ensuring safe, timely, and courteous transportation while representing the school in a professional manner at all times. Essential Responsibilities: Safely operate school buses in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. Transport students and staff to athletic competitions, field trips, and special events. Conduct required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections. Maintain order and appropriate student behavior while on the bus. Ensure proper use of seat belts and safety procedures (if applicable). Maintain accurate trip logs and required documentation. Communicate effectively with coaches, teachers, and school administrators regarding schedules and route changes. Report maintenance concerns, incidents, or safety issues promptly. Adhere to school policies, including student supervision and conduct standards. Represent the school professionally at all times when interacting with students, families, and host organizations. Qualifications: Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements (or ability to obtain). Current Department of Transportation (DOT) medical certification. Clean driving record with no major violations. Ability to pass required background checks and drug/alcohol screening. Prior experience driving a school bus or commercial vehicle preferred. Strong commitment to student safety and customer service. Ability to work evenings and occasional weekends. (athletic/special events).
