This full-time role involves compounding intravenous medications, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with USP 797 and USP 800 standards. General Summary The Chemotherapy Pharmacy Technician is responsible for accurately compounding IV medications, maintaining a clean and organized IV room, and supporting pharmacy operations with precision and care. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Accurately compound IV medications with strict adherence to safety protocols, including proper labeling and visual inspections. Restock IV room carts and automated dispensing cabinets, performing barcode scans and visual checks to ensure accuracy. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the IV room, including daily cleaning of ante and clean rooms and monthly deep cleaning. Manage inventory by placing daily orders, receiving shipments, and reviewing invoices for back-ordered items. Assist pharmacists in managing back-order lists and complete all required annual education and training. Education High school diploma or equivalent is required. Experience At least one year of experience in sterile compounding is required; chemotherapy compounding experience is preferred. Certification/License Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification is required. Candidates must register or apply for pharmacy registration prior to starting. Mental and Physical Requirements This role requires sustained mental concentration and physical activity including standing, walking, sitting, and lifting up to 35 pounds. Working Conditions Standard pharmacy environment with considerable standing and adherence to deadlines and sensitive situations.
