The Maintenance Repairer 2 is located within the Facility Services Department and performs general maintenance functions to campus buildings, facilities, and equipment. This is a full-time position.Minimum QualificationsTwo years of experience or training in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or park operations and grounds maintenance; ORCompletion of a two-year vocational technical program in general building construction, construction technology, or engineering; ORTwelve semester hours in construction management, construction technology, or engineering, or any combination of these courses.Job SpecificationThe official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be foundhere (.Job Duties and Other InformationJob Duties: Makes general repairs to buildings, interiors, exteriors, furniture, fixtures, air conditioning/heating systems and other mechanical and related fields such as plumbing, carpentry and electrical. Maintains and makes general repairs to a variety of motorized equipment including tune-ups, replacement and adjustment of won or damaged parts, (carburetors, generators, alternators, staters, pumps, brake linings/pads, etc.) and limited disassembly of major components (engines, transmissions, final drives, etc.) to determine the extent of damage and repairs necessary. Makes minor repairs to navigational locks such as replacing hydraulic hoses. Makes limited repairs to appliances, replaces parts and makes adjustments, etc. Starts, operates and checks for safety and maintenance of wide variety of handheld equipment, motorized vehicles, tractors, combines, hay balers, planters, etc.Performs other related duties as assigned. Position-Specific Details:Appointment Type: Probationary appointment with a one-year agency probationary period. Successful completion of this period is required before obtaining permanent status.Compensation: Anticipated starting salary will be commensurate with education and work experience.
