Active - Benefit Eligible and Accrues Time Off Work Hours per Biweekly Pay Period: 80.00 Shift: Weeknights with Occasional Weekends Location: 1324 Lakeland Hills Blvd Lakeland, FL Pay Rate: Min $17.93 Mid $22.41Position Summary The Maintenance Mechanic II demonstrates the commitment to the vision, mission and goals of Lakeland Regional Health, modeling the values and culture of caring. This position is responsible and accountable for providing superior and outstanding patient, customer and associate care by providing and performing a variety of skilled maintenance duties, including inspection, repair and preventive maintenance services to all buildings, grounds, and equipment; working knowledge of systems, equipment and components throughout the hospital and various off-site locations. Standard Work: Maintenance Mechanic II Must always be focused on the daily needs of all aspects of patient, customer and associate care in our facilities, specifically daily arising repairs (work orders) and emergent situations Must interact with patients, visitors, doctors and LRH associates in a professional and respectful manner. Must be able to immediately address issues and communicate the work that will need to be completed or has been completed Must inspect and test equipment and facility components for proper operation and working condition as indicated in preventive maintenance (PM) procedures, complete assigned PM's by their due date and maintain and complete the proper documentation associated with those PM's Must execute the service and repairs to various hospital support systems including the tube system and the linen chute system Must service and make repairs to heating, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment including fans, motors, thermostats, dampers, and regulating controls, replace filters and fluids as necessary, and maintain routine records of repairs Must perform routine electrical maintenance, re-lamping, ballast replacements and replacement or alteration of circuit wiring, switches and mechanisms Must perform general plumbing maintenance, associated with potable and sanitary water systems and fixtures. Must perform basic carpentry work including ceiling tile replacement, fixture mounting and picture hanging Must perform basic wall/floor repair, and finishing techniques, to include patching, painting, floor tile replacement, and other general repair skills Must perform any other duties as assigned to fulfill basic patient and staff needs to maintain safety and functionality of all hospital systems and work requests Must complete required documentation to meet regulatory agency requirements including all work orders, preventive maintenance, inspection and testing records Competencies & Skills Essential: Physical dexterity with normal sight and hearing Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver's license Must be able to adapt to a variety of changing duties as required to support all departments in the hospital and off-site facilities Knowledge of OSHA safety practices The use of hand tools and power tools related to facility maintenance Knowledge of the applicable codes, methods, materials, tools and equipment used in the Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing trades Mechanical, electrical and plumbing troubleshooting ability and the ability to perform preventative maintenance, routine servicing and repair of that equipment General knowledge of hospital support systems Nonessential: Local, State and Federal regulatory compliance knowledge The calibration and commissioning of various mechanical systems Welding and soldering abilities Qualifications & Experience Essential: High School or Equivalent Essential: Trade School graduate or 12th grade education. Other information: Experience Essential: - A minimum of four (4) years of experience in comparable trade work is required. - Large commercial facility maintenance experience. - Customer/patient service experience. Experience Preferred: - Previous healthcare facility maintenance experience. Certifications Essential: - High School diploma or equivalent Licenses Essential: - Valid State of Florida driver's license. Licenses Preferred: - Technical or Trade licensure.
