Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift Location: Monroe, WI Schedule: Monday-Friday, 1:00pm-9:30pm (Weekend overtime as needed) Compensation: $28.00 - $37.00 per hour + shift premium Position Overview A growing food manufacturing facility in the Monroe area is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to support production operations on 2nd shift. This role plays a key part in maintaining equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and ensuring the facility operates safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, dependable, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced production environment. Shift Premium: 10% additional pay for 1:00pm-9:00pm hours 15% additional pay for overnight hours when applicable Key Responsibilities Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on production and facility equipment Complete assigned sanitation-related maintenance tasks as part of plant programs Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and processing equipment Respond to equipment breakdowns and emergency repair needs Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and service records Coordinate with supervisors and production staff to schedule repairs and source parts Follow all safety protocols including lockout/tagout procedures and PPE requirements Participate in training and continuous improvement initiatives Support additional maintenance duties as assigned Required Skills & Abilities Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical and mechanical systems Working knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration systems, boilers, and VFDs Basic understanding of PLCs and automated processes Basic plumbing and carpentry skills Ability to interpret written procedures and technical instructions Strong communication skills and team-oriented mindset Self-starter with the ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment Consistent and reliable attendance Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent preferred Previous experience in industrial maintenance, manufacturing, or production support required Food manufacturing experience is helpful but not mandatory Physical Requirements Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis Ability to use hands and tools for mechanical adjustments and equipment repair Comfortable working in a production environment with exposure to food products, moisture, temperature changes, and cleaning agents Work Environment & Benefits Stable, full-time opportunity Competitive hourly pay based on experience Shift differential pay Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and retirement plan options Opportunity for technical growth and continued training
