Join Oracle Cloud Infrastructure as a Data Center Operations Manager The Data Center Infrastructure team at Oracle Cloud Infrastructure is leading the charge in developing cutting-edge GigaScale data centers with speed and efficiency. Our team comprises seasoned project and program managers who work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to navigate complex builds, reinforcing OCI's capacity growth and future success. About the Role: As a Data Center Operations Manager, you will spearhead the entire operations strategy and execution for OCI data center capacity, overseeing everything from initial design concepts through Integrated Systems Testing (IST) and successful operational handoff. This includes fulfilling GPU/rack readiness objectives. You'll thrive in a dynamic, matrixed environment, ensuring consistent and reliable commissioning outcomes by coordinating efforts between Engineering, Construction, Telecom/Low Voltage, Controls, Security, and Operations teams. Your mission will be to guarantee that systems are safe, compliant, thoroughly tested, and optimized for large-scale production. Key Responsibilities: Lead the comprehensive operations strategy and execution across multiple data center projects to ensure consistent and repeatable outcomes. Develop critical Cx deliverables such as Cx plans, test scripts/procedures, checklists, IST plans, MOPs/SOPs, and turnover documentation. Oversee and coordinate Integrated Systems Testing (IST), including planning, prerequisites, execution oversight, defect tracking, and closure of retests. Ensure system readiness across key infrastructure domains: MEP, EPMS, BMS/controls, generators, UPS, switchgear, chillers, and alarms/monitoring systems. Communicate commissioning milestones, constraints, risks, and blockers effectively to leadership and cross-functional teams. Supervise commissioning vendors, agents, and contractors while validating the quality of testing, documentation, and project closeout. Foster a strong safety and compliance culture during testing and energization activities. Daily Responsibilities: Work closely with Design/Engineering teams to ensure commissionability is integrated into early stages (operation sequences, points lists, alarm systems). Establish commissioning requirements for: Factory witness testing (FWT) and FAT/SAT as applicable. Level 1-5 commissioning stages. Equipment startup and functional performance testing (FPT). IST and operational scenarios. Collaborate with Construction and Trades to ensure prerequisites are met before testing (installation completion, pre-functional checks, TAB completion). Lead issue management: log defects, assign ownership, prioritize by risk/criticality, track resolutions, and validate retests. Provide clear status updates, including milestone tracking, readiness dashboards, risk registers, and turnover readiness indicators. Facilitate handoff to Operations: include training, spare parts, O&M manuals, as-built documents, and acceptance criteria. Ensure commissioning results align with owner design intent, reliability targets, and operational documentation. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Extensive commissioning experience in mission-critical facilities (preferably data centers), with knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems. Proven capability in leading commissioning processes including: Functional testing. IST planning and execution. Energization and startup coordination. Turnover and operational acceptance. Strong understanding of: Critical electrical systems (UPS, generators, switchgear). Cooling systems (chillers, CRAHs, pumps). Control systems (BMS, EPMS, alarms). Experience collaborating with contractors, commissioning agents, and vendors, with the ability to influence outcomes. Outstanding documentation and communication skills; adept at presenting to diverse audiences. Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and best practices in commissioning. Preferred Qualifications: Hands-on commissioning experience with GPU/high-density or liquid-cooled data halls. Experience with hyperscale or multi-site programs utilizing standardized commissioning processes. Professional certifications: CxA/CCP, PMP, PE, LEED (if applicable). Familiarity with digital commissioning tools and platforms. Strong background in operational readiness, including runbooks, MOP/SOP creation, and operator training. In-depth understanding of reliability validation practices and redundancy testing scenarios.
