DescriptionSUMMARY: The Assistant Principal is responsible for assisting the Principal in all capacities including, but not limited to, student conduct, academic programs, day-to-day operations, and campus policies and procedures. EMPLOYMENT TERMS: Eleven-month, full-time, exempt position Reports directly to the Principal 2026/2027 School Year BENEFITS:Arizona State Retirement System, Medical, Dental, Vision, Short Term Disability, Sick Leave Plan & Life Insurance. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:Academic Affairs: Working closely with the Principal, Curriculum Coordinator, and Academic Coaches to ensure curriculum and academic standards are implemented effectively. Collaborating with the Principal and extended onsite leadership team to support increased student academic achievement and initiatives. Student Affairs: Ensuring implementation of school policies concerning safety, discipline and student welfare. Using discipline guidelines effectively to address student behavior concerns. Overseeing all student activities and programs in conjunction with the Principal. Overseeing collection of data and required reporting. Developing, revising, and distributing annual student handbook in conjunction with the Principal. Personnel Affairs: Assisting in the selection and hiring of instructional staff. Assisting the Principal to promote staff awareness, collaboration, positive climate and culture, and participation in achieving the mission of the school. Acting as a resource to teachers in their instructional practice, especially as it relates to issues of discipline, relationships with students and parents, classroom management, and school culture. Helping facilitate personnel policy, procedures and rules of conduct in alignment with PLC Charter Schools' policies. Assisting the Principal with supervision and evaluation of instructional staff. Consulting with the Principal and advisors, when necessary, on employee relations matters. Designing and implementing professional development sessions in conjunction with the Principal. Acting as a backup Principal in the absence of the Principal and seeking guidance as needed. Performing other duties as assigned by the Principal. RequirementsQUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or related field from an accredited university. Minimum of three years of classroom teaching experience and three years of administrative experience. Valid Arizona Level One IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card. Possess knowledge of Arizona state standards/policies as they relate to student academics and achievement. Strong communication skills (written and verbal). Strong interpersonal skills and ability to create productive, collaborative, and healthy relationships.
