Overview GovCIO is seeking a motivated and talented Lead Enterprise Architect to support the US Courts. This remote opportunity allows you to make a significant impact in the future of government IT. Responsibilities As a Network Architect, you will play a crucial role in guiding the design, modernization, and optimization of extensive government enterprise networks. You will be responsible for establishing and enforcing network architecture standards while driving strategic initiatives in SD-WAN, cloud connectivity, network segmentation, Zero Trust architectures, data center networking, and Cisco-based WAN solutions. Your mission is to ensure that all network solutions are secure, resilient, scalable, and highly available across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. Duties: Support the advanced development, engineering, and management of the Data Center Network (DCN). Consult with AO, DTS, and local court IT staff on critical IT network architecture decisions, utilizing industry research and Analysis of Alternatives studies. Create and maintain essential deliverables such as Network Requirements Documents, Network Topology Diagrams, Network Design Documents, Capacity Planning Analyses, and Quality of Service (QoS) Design Specifications. Design comprehensive enterprise network architectures encompassing LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, data center, cloud, and edge environments. Define standards, reference architectures, and design patterns for network deployments. Lead initiatives in network segmentation, zero-trust, and defense-in-depth strategies. Architect solutions ensuring high availability, disaster recovery, and resiliency. Drive projects related to SD-WAN and cloud connectivity (AWS, Azure, ExpressRoute, Direct Connect) as well as network transformation. Evaluate emerging technologies and vendors, conducting technical trade analyses. Develop long-term network roadmaps aligned with business and security objectives. Support efforts for legacy network migration and technical debt reduction. Integrate security controls, including firewalls, IPS/IDS, DNS security, and network monitoring solutions. Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure compliance with FISMA, NIST, and Zero Trust standards. Ensure all architectures meet audit, compliance, and accreditation requirements. Implement Zscaler Zero Trust architecture. Qualifications Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of network architecture experience (or equivalent experience). 7+ years of enterprise networking experience, with a minimum of 5 years in an architecture role. Advanced expertise in network design, management, and troubleshooting. Proficient in enterprise routing and switching architectures, secure network perimeter solutions, and remote access technologies. Extensive experience with Cisco enterprise networking and WAN technologies. Knowledge of SD-WAN and cloud connectivity architectures. Familiarity with network security and visibility platforms including Cisco, Zscaler, Gigamon, McAfee, and F5. Must possess the ability to maintain a Public Trust clearance. Salary Range The salary for this position ranges from USD $94,150.00 to USD $140,000.00 per year, depending on factors such as market location, experience, and internal equity.
