The technician must have worked as a professional Cardiac Catheterization Tech for at least 12 months within the last 24 months Fluoro license will be required On-Call coverage will be required Duties & Responsibilities: Job Summary The Lead IR/Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist performs a variety of technical and supportive patient care tasks to assist physicians in performing complex and invasive cardiac catheterization procedures to include, but not limited to Vascular and Interventional Radiology studies. The Lead IR/Cardiac Cath Lab Tech performs lab administrative duties and supply inventory. Duties Prepare and position patients for procedures. Monitor gauges, recorder and video screens of computer system during imaging of cardiovascular system. Conduct cardiovascular tests to record patients' cardiac activity using specialized electronic test equipment, recording devices and laboratory instruments. Prepare reports of diagnostic procedures for interpretation by physician to and from procedure room Ensures medical records are accurate, complete and in compliance with Oroville Hospital policies and procedures. Maintains the integrity of medical records and documents in real time Ensures patient billing is accurate and timely by reviewing all procedures, documenting patient equipment charges and verifying CPT and ICD 9 codes are correct Assists with maintaining environmental integrity and aesthetics. Ensures all areas are clean, sanitary and safe on a daily basis. Ensures all equipment and instruments are in proper working condition by inspecting equipment on a daily basis before and after procedures Assists with disposal of hazardous waste materials, dirty linen and rugs Prepares, organizes, and efficiently utilizes supplies and equipment to prevent wastage Ensures effective communication with Physicians and Staff Works with Physicians and staff to ensure all necessary instruments and equipment are on hand Addresses Physician concerns in areas of responsibility Addresses IR/Cath Lab Technologist concerns in areas of responsibility May assist in the development and revision of policies and procedures related to radiography to ensure continuous process improvement Assists in training and orienting new employees on the equipment Assists with inventory ordering of supplies and re-stocking supplies Complies with HIPAA policies and standards in regards to patient confidentiality Performs other duties as assigned Other Info: Lifting Requirements Heavy lifting: up to 100 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
