Introduction The Assistant Scheduling Supervisor oversees the scheduling workflow and performs duties as a strong scheduling resource while maintaining a high level of customer service and quality patient care. The responsibilities include assisting schedulers with questions, scheduling issues, and other related job duties. This role also allows for great interpersonal interaction with both team members and patients daily. Job ResponsibilitiesAssists Scheduling Manager and Supervisor with telephone calls in scheduling phone queue and help ensure that incoming calls are answered in a courteous and timely manner Manages the document management worklist and inbound fax; attaches inbound fax documents to the appropriate accounts. Ensures scheduling questionnaires are completed accurately and sent to the inbound fax to be attached to the account Responsible for coordinating the training of new scheduling employees and training current scheduling employees on any updated workflows and job duties. Also responsible for having the scheduling training manual reviewed and signed by each employee Knowledgeable in all imaging studies to answer basic questions for the patient or referring physicians' offices and is familiar with exam preparation guidelines Schedules and reschedules patient exams in the appropriate time slot and correct facility in a prompt, pleasant and helpful manner Verifies and updates all patient information in the EMR system including but not limited to patient demographics and insurance information Navigates and follows all steps of the scheduling process including assigning the correct exam tasks, referring physician information, selecting the correct exam, and correctly spelling medical terms and diagnosis Identifies the correct CPT codes and fees for self-pay exams Completes customer service-related tasks to provide patients with a high-quality experience Performs additional related tasks as required Perks and BenefitsRIS offers competitive Medical, Dental, Vision, Life and Disability insurance Opportunity for remote work Education and Experience2 or more years in the medical field preferred Medical Assistant Certification preferred High school diploma or GED Required Skills Skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff, patients and referring physician offices, and the ability to work independently Physical RequirementsAbility to sit for prolonged periods Normal hand eye coordination and manual dexterity Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
