Security Investigator for Prototype Protection

The Amazon Security (AmSec) team is seeking a dedicated Security Investigator to join our Prototype Protection team. This role is essential in developing, implementing, and leading security initiatives to support Amazon's innovative prototype device teams. As a Security Investigator, you will provide critical investigation support for all Amazon consumer electronic devices before they are released to the public. You will play a pivotal role in enhancing the security posture for the Amazon Devices & Services Organization, which is responsible for creating popular electronics like the Kindle, Fire tablets, Fire TV, Amazon Astro, and Amazon Echo. This position has a global focus, ensuring consistent and rigorous security investigations for all reported cases of lost or misplaced prototypes. By engaging with product lines across the organization, you will create an effective model that integrates security into all levels of product development. To thrive in this role, you will need to understand the intricacies of Amazon's prototype development processes, foster strong relationships with key teams, identify areas for improvement, and propose actionable risk mitigation strategies. You will operate within a specific geographical region, executing investigations and enhancing security practices. Key Responsibilities: Investigation Leadership: Act as the primary security contact for all investigations in your region and lead thorough inquiries into prototype losses, unauthorized disclosures, and diversion cases. Program Development: Develop comprehensive investigation protocols, documentation, and processes to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards. Risk Management: Conduct risk assessments and design strategies to mitigate device loss and protect intellectual property. Metrics & Reporting: Establish metrics to gauge the effectiveness of investigation controls and analyze reports for risk-based prioritization. Training & Development: Create and lead security education initiatives while mentoring junior team members. Business Partnership: Collaborate across teams within Amazon Security to effectively communicate and influence security goals. A typical day may involve reviewing cases, collecting evidence, documenting findings, collaborating with other teams, and engaging in continuous learning. About the Team: The Prototype Security Investigations team strives to mitigate risks related to unauthorized IP disclosure, device loss, and non-compliance with policies. This role may require approximately 25-35% travel. For candidates in the Sunnyvale area, the salary range for this position is $112,200.00 to $196,300.00 annually, along with sign-on payments and stock units.
