The Platform Product Group engineers aim to create a reliable, scalable, and compliant platform that operates with speed and quality. Within this group, various teams, including Product Foundations (Identity, Payment, Risk, Proofing & Regulatory, Finhub), Machine Learning, Customer Experience, and Infrastructure, work cohesively. The Coinbase Travel Rule Platform Engineering Team is dedicated to establishing TRUST as the leading Crypto Travel Rule solution, ensuring comprehensive compliance while prioritizing customer privacy and security. As a member of the Travel Rule team, you will focus on delivering a seamless end-to-end experience, utilizing both frontend technologies for world-class user experiences and backend services following microservices architecture. You will take the lead on a multi-year roadmap designed to enhance engineering and platform development at Coinbase and will collaborate closely with our product teams to understand customer needs and accelerate their initiatives. Key Responsibilities: Architect and develop distributed systems Provide technical guidance to teams while collaborating with management and stakeholders to define strategic roadmaps Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables leveraging your technical expertise Mentor and train other team members on design practices and coding standards Design and implement foundational infrastructure components that support every engineering team in production (e.g., dynamic configuration, secrets storage, container orchestration, etc.) Produce high-quality, well-tested code to address customer needs What We Look For: 8+ years of experience in software engineering Proven experience in architecting and developing solutions for complex, impactful problems A passion for building an open financial system that brings the world together Preferred Qualifications: Experience in developing financial, high-reliability, or security systems Familiarity with online fraud prevention systems Experience navigating fast growth in a company, such as scaling from 10 to hundreds of engineers Experience in transitioning a large monolith to microservices architecture Competence with programming languages and tools like Golang, Ruby, Docker, Sinatra, Rails, and Postgres Hands-on experience with crypto technologies and on-chain interactions, including Ethereum addresses and dApps Job #: P70497 Pay Transparency Notice:The target annual base salary for this position varies based on location. The total compensation may also include equity, bonuses, and benefits (including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k)).
