POSITION SUMMARY: As a Nursing Assistant, you will provide vital support to patients by assisting them in meeting their basic needs and performing daily living activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). You’ll enhance patient care coordination through clear communication with patients, families, and your healthcare team while ensuring a safe and clean environment. You will report directly to the Clinical Nurse Manager. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: High School diploma or equivalent required. Successful completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant program is preferred but not mandatory. Must have an active Certified Nurse Assistant certification upon hire. Complete classroom education on Nurse Aide competencies and demonstrate them in a clinical setting during the introductory period, maintaining competency throughout employment. Basic Cardiac Life Support certification is required upon hire or must be obtained during the introduction period and maintained thereafter. COMPETENCIES: Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Basic computer skills are necessary. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide comprehensive patient care to meet their physical and psychosocial needs. Assist in the admission, transfer, and discharge processes for patients. Effectively communicate any changes in patient status to the RN or LPN and notify licensed personnel regarding patient pain or concerns. Collect and document pertinent patient data accurately. Perform all aspects of patient care with a focus on safety and positive outcomes. Demonstrate flexibility and organization, especially under stress. Maintain clear communication with team leaders, coworkers, and other healthcare professionals. Other assigned duties to ensure unit efficiency and effectiveness. Safely transport patients as necessary. Execute specific nursing assistant duties, including monitoring and reporting on different medical procedures and patient conditions.
