Job Summary We are seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to lead our internal Product Team at SHI. You will be pivotal in the design, deployment, and automation of cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure. This role demands expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform, alongside automation skills in Python and Bash, and containerization with Docker and Kubernetes. Your leadership will guide technical initiatives, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate closely with development, DevOps, and security teams to deliver scalable cloud-native solutions while establishing best practices. Role Responsibilities Design and manage complex Azure cloud infrastructure focusing on automation, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency. Architect reusable IaC modules and frameworks using Terraform. Implement advanced automation solutions with Python and Bash for operational tasks and configuration management. Develop shell scripts for orchestration and automation on Linux systems. Administer CI/CD pipelines in Jenkins and GitHub Actions, including writing and maintaining Groovy scripts. Build and manage Docker and Kubernetes environments for production-ready applications. Lead incident response and root cause analysis, implementing preventive measures. Troubleshoot issues across diverse tech stacks, adapting to different languages and frameworks. Collaborate with teams to convert functional requirements into secure and scalable architectures. Establish cloud security best practices and compliance standards. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including automation workflows and technical standards. Mentor junior engineers, providing technical leadership and guidance. Recommend Azure service updates and evaluate emerging tools. Drive continuous improvement for efficiency, performance, and cost optimization. Desired Skills and Competencies Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud. Cloud Technologies: Familiarity with cloud delivery models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and managing infrastructure components. Multi-Tier Applications: Experience designing and implementing cloud-based architectures. Workload Migration: Hands-on experience migrating workloads to the cloud. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience. 5+ years in cloud infrastructure, specializing in Microsoft Azure and Terraform. Proficiency in Python and Bash scripting, automation frameworks, and Linux administration. Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins and GitHub Actions. Knowledge of Azure networking, IAM, security principles, and container management. Proven leadership in mentoring junior engineers and working in Agile/Scrum teams. Willingness to travel to events as needed. Commitment to obtain relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Certified Solutions Architect) within the first year of employment. The estimated salary range for this role is $120,000 - $180,000, based on skills, experience, and market location. Benefits include medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending options.
