Ability to manage stress appropriately and make decisions under pressure. Flexibility required to provide coverage 24 hours/day, 7 days/week. Description: The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Psych Services department is an essential member of the patient care team. Responsibilities include direct and indirect patient care through the nursing process in all assigned areas. The RN will develop and periodically update individualized, interdisciplinary plans of care. Evaluating patient outcomes is a critical part of this role. Identifying available resources for patients is also expected. The Crisis Psychiatric Unit provides care to patients age 5 and up with psychiatric illnesses. Some patients may also require medical care. Most frequent psychiatric diagnoses include major depression, bipolar disorder, adjustment disorder, and psychotic disorders. Patients requesting detoxification also make up some clientele. Candidates must demonstrate the capability to work as part of a team effectively.
