Own the development, planning, and implementation of multi-year strategic plans for product categories. Utilize data and insights to make informed decisions at both product and category levels, regularly reviewing the impact of initiatives. Conduct tests on various merchandising elements and measure their success. Collaborate with Brand Managers on strategies for private brand consumables regarding assortment, pricing, and promotions. Handle the 4 P's of Marketing (product, place, price, promotion) for assigned categories. Establish a review process and Joint Business Planning Process (JBP) for the merchandising team. Drive year-over-year growth, exceeding budget and P&L targets. Build strong relationships with cross-functional teams, ensuring seamless execution of merchandising strategies. Select and evaluate vendors based on performance and quality, while managing relationships with major suppliers. Prepare insightful reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting key metrics and actionable recommendations. Lead, train, and develop Merchandise Planners to achieve departmental goals. Experience and Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or a related field preferred. 3-5 years of experience in category management within a retail environment. Proven experience in vendor relations and proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint. Experience in personnel supervision is a plus. Familiarity with Accounts Receivable/Rebate, SAP, back office systems, and C-Store is an advantage. Ideal candidates will have a background in product and brand development. Skills Required: Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office and data analysis tools. Soft Skills: Strong communication skills, attention to detail, team-oriented, and self-motivated. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and possess strong analytical skills. Physical Requirements: Prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping, and manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard.
