Transportation Designer (Roadway/Highway Design)Location: Hybrid - Raleigh, NC area | WFH: Thursday & FridayFull-Time | Direct HireWe are seeking a highly experienced Transportation Designer with a deep understanding of roadway and highway design to support complex infrastructure projects for NCDOT. The ideal candidate will have strong command of OpenRoads and MicroStation V8i, and a proven track record in delivering final plan sets for roads, highways, interchanges, and multi-modal transportation systems. Key Responsibilities: Develop and finalize engineering design documents including: Roadway designTraffic management plansSigning and pavement marking plansQuantities, cost estimates, specifications Produce high-quality plan sets for preliminary and final submittalsCollaborate with cross-functional teams and review design details and specificationsParticipate in construction administration as neededCoordinate work efficiently within NCDOT standardsActively engage in professional development, mentorship, or industry initiativesAssist with special projects and duties as assigned by leadership Required Qualifications: 10+ years of experience in roadway/highway designExpert proficiency in MicroStation V8iAdvanced experience using OpenRoads Designer (ORD)In-depth understanding of transportation planning and design for: HighwaysStreetsInterchangesRoundaboutsMulti-modal facilities Familiarity with NCDOT standards, formats, and workflowsStrong technical communication and time management skills Compensation: Base salary is competitive and commensurate with experience Work Schedule: Hybrid model: Mon-Wed: In-officeThurs-Fri: Work-from-home Why Join Us?
