Position Type: Operations/Facility Manager Date Posted: 3/2/2026 Location: SASED Administrative Offices Date Available: 07/01/2026 Closing Date: 05/15/2026 District: The School Association for Special Education in DuPage County Title: Facility and Logistics Manager Reports To: Assistant Director of OperationsFLSA Status: Exempt Salary Range: $70,000.00-73,000.00 Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree with experience facility management Knowledge and experience in managing infrastructure and construction Experience with electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, and building systems Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable Core Competencies: Strong desire to be part of a team that puts the needs of exceptional students first Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with many groups of people and students Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skill Effective collaborative problem-solving ability and independent work ethic Duties and Responsibilities: Supervise and coordinate the activities of maintenance workers, and vehicle maintenance. Inspect school facilities regularly to identify issues with electrical, plumbing, HVAC, roofing, structural, and general maintenance. Schedule and oversee preventive maintenance programs and regular inspections. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs. Maintain records of maintenance activities, inspections, and work orders. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations (OSHA, local building codes, fire extinguishers, etc.). Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs and services. Monitor and manage maintenance budget, including ordering supplies and approving purchases. Develop maintenance schedules and assign tasks to staff. Manage and oversee bidding requests for the department. Provide training and guidance to maintenance personnel. Ensure proper operation and maintenance of mechanical systems and security systems. Assist with snow removal, landscaping, and seasonal upkeep of school grounds. Report major maintenance issues and recommendations to administration. Oversee and develop courier services. Coordinate with lessor(s) as needed to ensure appropriate working conditions. Coordinate, manage and execute maintenance work orders for all locations as determined by building and grounds help desk requests Manage contracts maintenance Develop, implement, and update emergency and crisis response plans and facilitate SASED's Safety Committee Develop and coordinate long term facility planning Coordinate and oversee execution of all mandated safety drills and maintain proper documentation. Schedule, coordinate and manage all required inspections and ensure compliance with Ensure water fountains are functioning, necessary water tests are scheduled, and filters are replaced. Coordinate Air Quality Control testing as needed Coordinate and maintain all necessary supplies for the maintenance department Coordinate Pest management for SASED owned properties. Oversee and coordinate summer work, moves, and cleaning, including recruitment of necessary summer workers. Coordinate major cleaning of SASED owned properties. Assist in Obtaining quotes for property management needs. Coordinate storage needs and inventory. Ensure daily safety checks for all vans/buses. Coordinate, evaluate, and oversee SASED courier. Develop, oversee and ensure compliance with accident procedures. Oversee proper safety measures regarding equipment, supplies and the ability to safely transfer equipment and materials. Maintain documentation for transportation logs and vehicle safety inspections Research, compile, assimilate, support, and prepare accurate and organized documents, projects, presentations, and reports Assist in determining needed supplies and equipment for the program, coordinate all ordering and purchase orders, credit card purchases, maintain an inventory of supplies, coordinate delivery of mail and equipment, and ensure all proper procedures are followed as well as appropriate records. Assist with department budget development, coordinate purchase orders for the department, and oversee accounts. Attend professional development opportunities and engage in ongoing education in order to support a system of learning and improvement and the overall efficiency and functioning of the organization, including staff meetings. Maintain confidentiality in matters of student and staff personnel information Other duties assigned by the supervisor.
