What You'll Be Doing: The Director of Analytics for Performance Suite plays a crucial role in developing and utilizing analytical tools to tackle complex business challenges, significantly influencing organizational performance and patient health. This role encompasses supporting capitated risk, value-based strategies, medical cost management, and various operational functions. You will collaborate with teams in Business Development, Product Strategy, Finance, Actuarial, and more to drive impactful results. Lead the analytics collaboration with Business Development & Product teams to forge innovative strategies for value-based care initiatives. Act as a strategic partner in developing capitated risk proposals, focusing on cost projections, trends, and the potential for quality improvement. Oversee a dedicated team in analyzing and interpreting complex cost and utilization data to assess potential risks of proposals. Work closely with actuarial and finance teams to integrate new product innovations into current analytical models. Craft analytical models and distill complex analyses into clear presentations for internal and external stakeholders. Contribute to budget and forecast development for new business relationships, packaging insights for performance tracking. Partner with departments to create streamlined processes for proposal development from initial prospecting to final implementation. Use programming skills to analyze large datasets, delivering high-quality results independently. Facilitate positive interactions with customers to foster trust and cooperation. Engage with internal and external customers to understand challenges, perform statistical analyses, and help achieve their goals. Mentor and manage a team of analysts, setting clear objectives and holding staff accountable for their performance. The Experience You'll Need (Required): Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., actuarial science, statistics, operations research) or a healthcare-related discipline (e.g., health administration, public health). Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare analytics, specifically claims-based analysis within payer, provider, or consulting environments. In-depth knowledge of healthcare claims and billing practices. Experience with healthcare reimbursement methodologies and coding systems. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and proficiency in SQL or SAS for statistical analysis. Familiarity with data mining and advanced statistical manipulation. Strong communication skills to engage diverse stakeholders and translate needs effectively. Exceptional analytical skills, with a proven ability to derive insights from both quantitative and qualitative data. Prior experience managing teams is essential. Ability to operate independently with limited oversight. Finishing Touches (Preferred): Master's Degree in a quantitative or healthcare-related field. Experience in medical economics within Utilization Management or Clinical Vendor Management. Knowledge of healthcare underwriting methodologies. Familiarity with value-based care and utilization management practices. Understanding of data systems and critical thinking to adapt to changes. Experience with programming languages such as Python or R and familiarity with BI tools.
