Job Description We are seeking a dynamic individual who possesses a robust blend of technical and business acumen to drive Oracle's database offerings into future technology landscapes, particularly in the evolving domain of Agentic AI. Ideal Background The ideal candidate will have 10-20+ years of experience in software engineering, database administration, or data architecture roles, potentially having held positions such as Principal Engineer, Database Architect, Data Platform Lead, or Engineering Manager in data-intensive environments. Key qualifications include: Expertise in cloud-native architectures like AWS, GCP, or Azure, especially with managed RDBMS services. Familiarity with coding languages such as C or C++ is a plus. Experience in a Chief Architect or Technical Advisor capacity within fast-paced, matrixed organizations. Responsibilities Technical Expertise (Especially in RDBMS) Demonstrated hands-on experience with major RDBMS platforms including Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and modern cloud-native RDBMS like Amazon Aurora, Google Cloud Spanner, or Azure SQL. Key responsibilities include: Database architecture and performance tuning. Data modeling (OLTP and OLAP) along with SQL/query optimization. Implementing high availability, replication, disaster recovery, and backup strategies. Understanding the trade-offs between NoSQL and RDBMS systems. Formulating effective migration strategies (e.g., from Oracle to PostgreSQL, on-prem to cloud). Strategic & Architectural Thinking Experience in designing data architectures for enterprise-grade applications, along with a solid grasp of data governance, lineage, and compliance (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.). Responsibilities include: Assessing and aligning technology decisions with business goals. Evaluating buy vs. build options and vendor solutions. Chief of Staff Skills As a key support to the CTO or Chief Architect, your role will encompass: Leading initiatives and coordinating efforts among various technical teams. Strong communication skills, capable of producing both executive-level documents and detailed technical documentation. Influencing cross-functionally within engineering, operations, product, and customer-facing teams. Exceptional abilities in prioritization, project planning, and execution. Leadership & Soft Skills You will be a trusted advisor to senior technology leaders, capable of mentoring engineers and fostering collaboration without direct authority. Essential skills include: Facilitating meetings and resolving conflicts effectively. Maintaining diplomacy and discretion in sensitive discussions. Compensation and Benefits Salary range: $136,600 to $338,500 annually, with eligibility for bonus, equity, and deferred compensation.
