Job Description

Join Jacobs in our mission to enhance the environment through impactful projects! We are looking for a skilled and motivated Cost Estimator who can deliver precise estimates for a wide range of challenging environmental, heavy civil, military, and government facility projects. As a key member of our team, you will review design documents, specifications, and drawings, actively participate in design development meetings, and conduct site visits that will help define the scope of work and its associated costs. Your expertise will be vital as you prepare detailed estimates which involve developing project work breakdown structures, conducting comprehensive quantity take-offs, assisting with contracting tasks, and analyzing indirect costs. Collaboration is at the heart of what we do; you will work closely with design teams to ensure that estimates reflect the highest quality and accuracy. Utilizing your creativity and analytical skills, you will create insightful reports and presentations, analyze historical data, and apply your knowledge of construction methods to enhance project efficiency. Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management Technology Skills: Proficient in Word, Excel, estimating software, scheduling tools, and database software Estimating Knowledge: Strong understanding of estimating processes, quantity take-off, crew development, productivity relationships, and risk management Risk Analysis: Skilled in quantitative risk analysis using software such as @Risk and Primavera Risk analysis Estimating Software: Experience with industry tools like Timberline, HCSS Heavy Bid, and MII Estimating systems Project Scheduling: Knowledge of Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project Travel: Willingness to travel as needed for projects Communication Skills: Excellent written, oral, and presentation abilities Independence: Capable of completing tasks with minimal supervision Interpersonal Skills: Strong relationship-building and conflict resolution abilities Mentorship: Experience mentoring junior team members Jacobs is proud to be an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
