We are: Part of Accenture's Supply Chain & Operations practice, dedicated to helping clients transform and optimize their supply chains. The Supply Chain Manager acts as a key advisor to clients within the utility sector, leading initiatives to enhance supply chain operations in generation, transmission, distribution, and customer service. This role integrates industry expertise with advanced digital solutions, using AI, machine learning, and innovative technologies to boost resilience and operational efficiency. You are: The manager collaborates with client executives to evaluate supply chain maturity, pinpoint performance gaps, and design effective, data-centric solutions that encompass procurement, logistics, inventory management, and asset management. By guiding clients towards adopting cutting-edge capabilities—such as autonomous planning agents and predictive analytics—you will drive improvements in forecasting accuracy and risk management, particularly in today's dynamic energy landscape. This role will lead cross-functional teams to carry out comprehensive consulting projects, from strategic planning and solution design to implementation and change management. You will also contribute to the creation of thought leadership, develop reusable tools, and innovate AI solutions that provide significant benefits to utility clients facing challenges like grid modernization and decarbonization. The Work: In this role, you will spearhead transformative projects, working closely with utility clients and senior stakeholders at Accenture to shape strategies and implement advanced capabilities across people, processes, data, and technology. Your responsibilities will include: Strategic & Advisory Responsibilities Lead comprehensive supply chain transformations for utility clients across all segments. Analyze current operational models and performance, identifying improvement areas using data-driven methodologies. Create future-state architectures that leverage AI, digital twins, and predictive analytics. Advise on modernization efforts aligned with industry resilience, decarbonization, and regulatory compliance. Develop business cases that demonstrate financial impact and operational efficiency enhancements. Supply Chain Strategy & Planning Formulate and refine holistic supply chain strategies for utility clients. Display expertise in demand forecasting, planning, and S&OP practices. Understand the supply needs of capital projects such as substations and renewable interconnection. Procurement & Category Management Drive strategic sourcing for T&D equipment, field services, and more. Manage vendor selections, conduct bid evaluations, and develop contracts. Create category plans that align with utility reliability and cost objectives. Conduct supplier risk assessments and continuous improvement initiatives. Monitor contract performance to ensure safety and productivity standards are met. Utility Capital Projects & Construction Support Provide supply chain support for major capital projects, enhancing material planning and contractor coordination. Manage risk considerations for high-importance items and supplier capacity challenges. AI & Agentic Solutions Responsibilities Pinpoint areas where AI, machine learning, and intelligent agents can enhance operations in procurement and logistics. Design workflows leveraging AI for better demand planning and risk management. Collaborate with technical teams to implement and scale AI solutions effectively. Establish governance and ethical guidelines for responsible AI practices. Operational & Delivery Responsibilities Lead consulting teams throughout the project lifecycle—from strategy to implementation. Oversee the deployment of digital platforms for operational enhancements. Facilitate cross-functional collaboration across various business areas. Ensure engagement quality, timeliness, and profitability. Steer stakeholder alignment and communication efforts effectively. Consulting Competencies Strong executive communication skills with the ability to simplify complex information. Expertise in business case development and financial analysis. Experience engaging with senior stakeholders and managing complex organizations. Proven leadership skills and a commitment to team development and collaboration. Here's what you need: At least 5 years of experience in supply chain consulting or transformation, preferably in the utility sector. A solid understanding of utility operations in the generation, transmission, and distribution domains. Experience in a consulting capacity or equivalent internal consulting role at the managerial level. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; relevant advanced degrees or certifications are a plus. Bonus Points if: Possess a Master's degree or advanced professional certification. Have knowledge of trends in grid modernization, resilience, and renewable energy integration. Demonstrate hands-on experience in supply chain functions including inventory management and logistics planning. Familiarity with AI technologies and advanced analytics applications. Exhibit project management capabilities with experience in executing complex cross-functional projects. Experience navigating regulatory environments within the utility sector. Familiarity with tools such as digital twins and predictive maintenance solutions. Understanding of operational processes and performance management strategies. Experience with digital workflows and platforms in the supply chain context. Worked in a supply chain role directly for a utility company.
