Join our compassionate community and help prioritize health As the Associate Director for Virtual Applications, you will provide both strategic and operational leadership for the Tier 0 Virtual Apps Platform L3 Infrastructure team. Your expertise will guarantee reliable, secure, and high-performing virtual application services essential for Humana's most crucial business functions. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the Virtual Access, Desktops, and Application environment across the enterprise. You will cultivate a culture of accountability by ensuring your team possesses the necessary skills to deliver high-quality outcomes, fostering an environment of respect and collaboration, while also adopting modern engineering practices. Key Responsibilities: Oversee all Tier 0 Virtual Apps Platform infrastructure operations, managing incidents, resolving problems, controlling changes, and implementing continuous improvement strategies. Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans specific to the Virtual Apps Platform services. Ensure compliance with Humana's security, regulatory, and privacy standards, including SOX, HIPAA, and internal audit requirements. Lead cross-functional collaboration with application owners, security, network, and support teams to ensure seamless end-user experiences. Act as the escalation point for high-severity incidents within the Virtual Apps Platform, driving resolution and conducting root cause analyses. Monitor performance, manage capacity planning, and enhance optimization of Virtual Apps environments. Champion automation and reliable service engineering principles within the Virtual Apps Platform. Prepare and present operational, risk, and compliance reports to executive leadership. Use your skills to create a positive impact Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or 5 years of relevant leadership experience. At least 7 years of progressive experience in enterprise infrastructure. Demonstrated ability in managing Tier 0/critical systems and services. More than 5 years of experience in people leadership, including team development, performance management, and talent acquisition. Solid understanding of ITIL principles, incident/problem/change management, and service level agreements. Knowledge of compliance requirements including HIPAA, SOX, and Humana’s internal policies. Proficient in automation and scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Ansible) along with monitoring tools. Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and executive reporting skills. Available to participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation for critical incidents. Commitment to Humana's core values, including inclusion, integrity, and service excellence. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree and/or relevant certifications (e.g., Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty, VMware Certified Professional, ITIL, PMP, CISSP). At least 3 years in Virtual Apps Platform administration at an L3/expert level within a large, regulated environment. Experience with cloud-hosted Virtual Apps deployments (Azure, AWS, Citrix, or similar). Expert knowledge of Virtual Apps Platform technologies (e.g., Citrix, Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop, VMware Horizon) and related infrastructure (Windows Server, Active Directory, networking, security). Prior leadership experience in healthcare or other highly regulated industries. Background in driving transformation initiatives (cloud migration, automation, DevOps). Work-At-Home Requirements Must have the ability to provide high-speed DSL or cable modem for a home office. Associates or contractors residing in California will receive payment for their internet expense. A minimum standard speed of 25x10 (25mpbs download x 10mpbs upload) is required. Satellite and Wireless Internet service are not permitted for this role. A dedicated workspace free from ongoing interruptions to safeguard member PHI / HIPAA information is needed. #LI - Remote Travel: Although this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be necessary. Scheduled Weekly Hours 40 Pay Range The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full-time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may vary depending on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job-related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc. $129,300 - $177,800 per year This position is eligible for a bonus incentive plan based on company and/or individual performance.
