Position Overview: The Senior Analyst of Payroll Budgeting and Planning plays a crucial role in orchestrating the annual planning and budgeting cycle for Store Payroll, essential for managing labor expenses across all Ross and dd's locations. This role entails creating a comprehensive annual budget and a 5-Year Plan for Store Payroll, considering various data sources and key assumptions. The Senior Analyst will also ensure that our budget accounts for new initiatives, operational changes, efficiency-boosting technologies, and strategic alterations, such as the introduction of our Ross-branded credit card. Beyond core planning functions, the analyst will provide analytical insights on Store Payroll, assist in producing executive-facing materials, and implement enhancements to streamline the budgeting and planning processes. Key Responsibilities: Develop the Annual Budget and 5-Year Plan for Store Payroll for all locations. Revise Store Payroll planning processes and files using internal data and departmental projections. Integrate impacts from labor-saving initiatives in collaboration with the Method Improvements team. Prepare detailed analyses and supporting schedules for quarterly results reviews. Manage and update the wage rate model, considering factors such as minimum wage growth and turnover. Enhance budgeting processes and elevate the efficiency of Store Payroll expense management. Implement changes to budget file structures and data sources. Proactively address potential challenges during the annual budgeting cycle. Conduct additional Store Payroll analyses as needed, especially related to our labor strategy. Maintain up-to-date documentation on Store Payroll planning processes. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, mathematics, operations, accounting, or a related analytical field with strong academic performance. 3-5 years of relevant experience showcasing increased responsibility and success. Familiarity with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes. Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach to problem-solving. Comprehension of fundamental financial, statistical, and economic concepts. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex analyses effectively. Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy. Ability to build effective relationships across teams, including Store Finance, Field, LP, and senior executives. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with financial systems such as Hyperion, RDW/DART, and Flash Sales. Trustworthy with sensitive information. Physical Requirements: This position is primarily office-based with functions including sitting, standing, walking, and engaging in meetings. Regular attendance is essential. Vision requirements include the ability to see information in printed or electronic format. This role requires a combination of in-office and remote work.
