Department/Unit: HBD - Otolaryngology Work Shift: Day Salary Range: $83,200.00 - $128,960.00 Job Description Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Otolaryngology team. In this role, you will work under the guidance of a physician or advanced practice provider (APP) and be supervised by a Nurse Manager or Nurse Supervisor. Your responsibilities will include providing direct patient care and triaging patients both in-person and via phone. You will be an integral part of a multi-specialty healthcare team. Key Responsibilities Obtain and record patients' vital signs accurately, reporting any abnormal values to the treating provider. Gather and document comprehensive histories (medical, surgical, and social) and conduct focused physical assessments as per clinic protocols. Administer medications and provide treatments under the direction of a physician or APP. Assist in in-office procedures relevant to the specialty, documenting findings in the electronic health record (EHR). Review and triage incoming test results, patient requests, and pharmacy renewals, ensuring timely follow-ups with patients as necessary. Utilize resources effectively to achieve optimal patient outcomes while contributing to quality metrics. Delegate appropriate tasks to LPNs and/or MAs according to licensure. Comply with regulatory standards set by The Joint Commission and internal policies. Provide orientation and education for newly hired staff. Engage in continuous education related to clinic specialty to stay updated on best practices. Deliver patient education on health and wellness topics during clinic visits. Minimum Qualifications Associate's degree from a state-accredited Registered Nursing program. Current New York State RN licensure. Valid CPR certification. Certification in an ambulatory setting is preferred. Exceptional customer service and communication skills. Able to effectively present information and respond to inquiries from physicians, patients, and families. Familiarity with computer software, particularly MS Word and Excel. Experience with electronic health records is preferred. Proficient in medication administration via all routes and capable of calculating medication dosages.
