Director of Personal Insurance Pricing Analytics We are seeking a dynamic Director of Pricing Analytics to spearhead the transformation of The Hartford's Personal Insurance business unit. In this pivotal role, you will lead a team of 5-7 analysts and craft strategies to enhance pricing accuracy and growth across our extensive ~$4B nationwide portfolio. Embrace innovation as we develop new Auto and Home insurance products supported by cutting-edge cloud technology. As a creative and visionary leader, you will be responsible for rate review and filing, while also providing fresh perspectives to modernize our pricing data architecture, develop advanced analytical pricing tools, and streamline operations. A keen interest in AI experimentation will be essential as we integrate AI capabilities into our work processes. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional communication and influencing skills, strong technical expertise, and a proven ability to build and motivate a high-performing team. Responsibilities: Lead the analysis, design, and implementation of state-specific class plan enhancements, including new coverage options and rating variables. Drive continuous improvement in profitability, policy growth, and retention across a diverse range of states, leveraging competitor and industry insights to advocate for impactful changes. Champion a positive team culture by leading a group of 5-7 analysts, focusing on attracting and retaining diverse talent while investing in their career development through coaching and formal training. Continuously evaluate and enhance current processes and tools to uplift the team's pricing and analytical capabilities, and create practical use cases for AI tools to optimize workflows. Broaden the team's pricing knowledge across Personal Insurance while encouraging team members to explore new data and analytical technologies. Collaborate with State Product Managers, Actuarial, Data Science, and other departments to ensure clear communication regarding project delivery and pricing activities, maintaining high standards of quality and actuarial practice in all work. Qualifications: 7+ years of experience in P&C insurance, with a solid foundation in analytical skills and ratemaking principles. Proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams. Excellent interpersonal skills, with experience collaborating across functional areas such as Product Management, Data Science, Underwriting, and Compliance, along with the ability to convey ideas effectively to diverse audiences. Strong organizational abilities with skills in time management, prioritization, delegation, and project management. Demonstrated success in challenging existing processes and inspiring continuous improvement. FCAS/ACAS designation preferred. Familiarity with SQL, R, Python, or similar programming languages is advantageous. Location: This role can accommodate a hybrid work arrangement at our hub offices in Hartford, CT, Tampa, FL, or Columbus, OH. Candidates residing near these locations should anticipate working in the office Tuesday through Thursday. Those located further away may be considered for a remote arrangement with occasional travel. Compensation: The annual base pay range for this role is $147,440 - $221,160, based on market analysis of similar positions. Actual base pay may vary depending on performance and other factors. The base salary is just one component of The Hartford's comprehensive compensation package, which may include bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition.
