Eligibility and Employer Sponsored Plans can be found within each of the links offered.Essential Job Duties Serve as the Insurance Coordinator for the Chester Grant Sports Medicine Center in Reynolds Coliseum, supporting the delivery of medical, mental health, and performance services to student-athletes through insurance coordination, medical documentation management, scheduling, and administrative support.Coordinate insurance verification and assist with precertification processes for student-athletes. Schedule onsite and offsite physician and specialist appointments. Assist with maintaining and managing medical records, transcribing dictated notes, securing follow-up documentation from medical visits, and entering records into tracking databases for over 600 student-athletes. Serve as a point of contact for student-athletes, providers, staff, and campus partners while ensuring compliance with HIPAA and departmental guidelines. Manage administrative functions including calendar oversight, purchase orders, travel coordination, invoice processing, and purchase card reconciliation for Sports Medicine and Mental Health & Performance staff. Assist student-athletes, physicians, nutritionists, mental health providers, administrators, and coaches (when appropriate) in support of care delivery. This position is open only for current, permanent NC State Employees.Other Responsibilities Other duties as assigned by Insurance Coordinator and Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine and Administration. Qualifications Minimum Experience/Education Bachelor's degree and one year of experience related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a medical office, athletics, or university health center environment supporting patient scheduling, insurance verification, and medical documentation. Demonstrated knowledge of HIPAA regulations and experience handling protected health information in a compliant setting. Working knowledge of medical terminology and common sports-related injuries and procedures. Experience managing precertification processes, insurance coordination, and follow-up documentation for medical visits. Proven ability to interpret written and verbal policy information, manage multiple priorities, and maintain accurate records in a fast-paced administrative setting.
