Job Description As an Associate Decision Scientist for the Strategic Analytics team, you will be responsible for conducting data analysis, supporting business analytics, and helping to advance our capabilities. The role includes participating in scoping sessions, defining project requirements, executing data analysis, visualizing findings, and communicating insights to help drive business decisions. You will focus on the Membership Strategic Analytics teams advanced analytics, measurement, and decision support for the MyBBY Membership Program, analysing and reporting on strategies to grow and improve the program. This role is hybrid, meaning you will work some days at our corporate office in Richfield, Minnesota, and some days virtually from home or another non?Best Buy location. Work arrangements vary by role and team and the recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process. What youll do Participate in scoping sessions and delivery meetings with business clients, documenting requirements, objectives, and specifications. Tackle open?ended business problems with a strategic lens, offering creative, data?driven solutions. Query structured data and reports using SQL, Python or R. Calculate variances and analyse trends with existing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Perform analytics using scientific methods that rely on mathematics, statistics and hypothesis testing. Perform data validation to ensure the accuracy of analytical results. Translate data into visualisations by mapping data into graphical elements. Create and package insights for business stakeholders in a non?technical, easy?to?understand manner. Answer questions on dataset types and their limitations. Collaborate with team members to share findings and recommendations. Basic qualifications Bachelors degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Physical Sciences, Computer Science, Marketing, Business, or a similar field with quantitative rigor. 2 or more years of experience in business, analytics, or a related area. 2 or more years of experience with analytics, reporting and/or database knowledge (using tools such as SQL, Python or R). 1 or more years of experience collaborating cross?functionally with various business teams. Preferred qualifications Experience presenting to various levels within an organization. Familiarity with cloud data analytics/engineering. 1 or more years of experience with cloud data analytics/engineering.
