This position is for a fully trained shop mechanic capable of performing all required shop duties and routine preventative maintenance functions. You will conduct repairs on tractors, trailers, and minor work on refrigeration power units. Here’s what we offer: Competitive Pay: $27.00 to $35.00 (based on experience) plus shift premium. Shift: Sunday to Thursday, starting at 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM. Sign-On Bonus: $4000 (half after 90 days, half after 180 days). Responsibilities include: Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on trailers and refrigeration systems. Conduct maintenance and repairs on Class 8 tractors. Execute simple to complex mechanical and electrical repairs. Independently perform repairs such as: Diagnosing, removing, repairing, replacing or rebuilding components including clutches, water pumps, tires, suspensions, bodywork, differentials, drivetrains, transmissions, wheel seals, and brake systems. Diagnose and service diesel engines. Conduct axle alignments on trailers and troubleshoot cooling systems. Perform diagnostic tests and maintain shop tools. Complete necessary paperwork and computer input accurately. Follow company protocols and safety regulations diligently. Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members, both verbally and in writing. Work independently and cooperatively within a team. Be available for on-call rotation and road calls using company vehicles. Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED required. Trade school background in heavy duty diesel repairs or refrigeration preferred. 1-2 years of diesel repair experience, especially with tractor-trailers and refrigeration systems. Documented experience in fleet maintenance or prior employment as a Class C Technician. Basic hand tools and storage are necessary. A current ASE certification in Medium/Heavy Truck Preventative Maintenance Inspection (PMI) is required within one year of hire. A valid Class C Driver's License is required; Class A preferred. Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods. Preferred certifications include: Transportation Refrigeration, Brake Systems, Tractor A/C Refrigeration, and Heavy Duty electrical diagnostics. Excellent reading, writing, and comprehension skills in English to understand work instructions and safety protocols. Are you a good fit?
